Learning the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the first step toward writing and publishing documents on the Web. Web developers who use Web authoring software programs that don’t require HTML often rely on their knowledge of HTML to make improvements, optimize pages, and address the shortcomings of such editing software. Participants will learn to write HTML code from scratch and will be introduced to Netscape Composer, a free text editor for Web page creation. Through this mixture of lecture and hands-on computer lab experiences, individuals will create basic HTML pages and publish them on the Web. Participants will work in a computer lab at individual workstations operating on a Windows platform.
