Adobe® Flash, today’s premier multimedia design software, has the power to create high-impact, fully interactive and animated Web sites. Flash provides full design control to maximize creativity, resulting in a consistent end-user experience across a variety of platforms. Participants will use Flash to create a personal Web site with interactive animations in this hands-on course designed for individuals new to animation, graphic design and Web production, or for those who wish to increase the breadth of their Web-production capabilities.

Topics will include the following:

  • The Flash workspace
  • Creating graphics and animations. Working with text.
  • Creating buttons and movie clips with sound
  • Working with behaviors to create interactivity
  • Creating forms with Flash components
  • The basics of ActionScript
  • Publishing documents for different players

Instructor: Sura Khudairi, owner and creative director of Sura Design, has eight years of experience in graphic and Web design and is studying for a masters in graphic design at the University of Houston. She also has experience in brand identity, packaging, print collateral, advertising and multimedia. Ms. Khudairi holds a BFA in graphic design from The Art Institute of Houston.

Participants will work in a computer lab at individual workstations using the Windows® operating system.
