Rice University Paralegal
Certificate Program

The Rice University Paralegal Certificate program, designed with input from attorneys and paralegals, distinguishes itself by its focus on real world skills needed by working paralegals. It is designed to provide the education you need to begin a paralegal career or advance an existing career in the legal field. Rice’s program teaches the knowledge and skills used daily by paralegals, including legal processes, court structure, interviewing, investigation, document preparation, file maintenance, correspondence as well as research, writing and analysis. Because Rice’s program requires its participants to have a bachelor’s degree, it does not include general education courses often included in other programs.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the paralegal profession is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2016. The certificate program offers the highest quality of paralegal education at an affordable cost. Learn more about the profession at our paralegal information page.

Based on the positive reception Houston’s legal community has given the Rice Paralegal Certificate Program, we believe graduates of the program will find themselves well prepared to meet the demands of a paralegal career.
