Overview
The Paralegal Graduate Certificate Program Online Format is a live, instructor-led, fully interactive paralegal certification program designed to provide the education you need to begin a paralegal career or advance an existing career in the legal field. This unique approach to education allows students to attend a virtual classroom using their computer and communicate with the instructor using a headset and voice-over-IP technology. From your home, office or on the road, as long as you have a computer and Internet connection, you can access the virtual classroom.
Required Equipment
For the best reception, students should have a headset connected to their computer as well as a hard-line connection to the Internet. A wireless connection is not recommended, unless the computer is sitting next to the modem.
Your computer’s speakers and microphone will not work with the software. You must use a headset.

Curriculum
The curriculum is similar to Rice’s traditional classroom format Paralegal Graduate Certificate Program. The Essential Skills curriculum, taught on Monday nights, is the same as the traditional classroom program. The substantives taught by live instruction are Tort Law, Contract Law and Federal Civil Procedures.
