BIOGRAPHY
Kristen Schlatre is the Director of the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. She is responsible for implementing the strategic direction of the Center through ensuring the continued quality and growth of the nonprofit program portfolio for the Glasscock School This includes overseeing curriculum design, partnership management, program development and administration of programming serving nonprofit professionals, volunteers and board members.
She began her career as an elementary school teacher through Teach for American in South Louisiana after earning a BBA in Marketing and Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Certified Nonprofit Professional credential from the University of Houston. She holds a MPA in Nonprofit Management and MA in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy respectively.
Ms. Schlatre has experience managing grant portfolios, coordinating volunteer programs, implementing evaluation efforts, development partnerships and talent management. Her roles have included board development and implementing strategy for program and revenue growth. She earned the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2012. Ms. Schlatre is an experienced instructor and trainer and frequently serves as a facilitator for board retreats and strategic planning sessions. She also supports experienced and emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector as a leadership coach.
